This renovation project initially began as a facility assessment of the existing historical structure. The assessment, along with an up-to-date set of as-built drawings, provided a valuable tool to the YMCA Central Branch in strategically planning all capital improvements as well as deferred maintenance well into the 21st century. The multi-phased facility renovation scope included: identifying critical areas of need and prioritizing; recommending scopes of work required to bring the building up to code and modern day standards including life safety and building codes as well as modernize antiquated building systems such as electrical, mechanical, and roofing.
