Barclays Bank selected BSA+A design the fit-out of the new 41,000 SF call center and card services location in Iron Hill Corporate Center, MBNA’s former call center.

An aggressive building program was required by Barclaycard Services to be up and running quickly, requiring BSA+A and Buccini Pollin Group Services to deliver the 41,000 SF fit-out for 300 Barclaycard employees in seven weeks.

The project included a command center, break room, conference rooms, and a security desk area at the entrance. Barclays Bank has a strong environmental mission and the design included low V.O.C. emitting paints and adhesives, recycled content in the carpet and wall base, and minimizing the waste generated during construction. “Reuse and modify” became the credo of the project. Approximately 95% of the existing furniture system was reused and reconfigured.

As the final result, all deadlines were met, the project was completed under the allocated budget.
