Appoquinimink High School

210,000 SF     Middletown, Delaware

Appoquinimink School District’s new high school is designed for a capacity of 1,600 students to accommodate the recent growth in student enrollment in the Middletown, Odessa and Townsend area.

The facility is designed with adaptable, flexible and multi-use learning areas, supporting a wide range of educational activities for the students. The building is designed to allow for future expansion to accommodate the growing student population.

The design allows public access to the media center, administration offices, an 800-seat theater, and a 2,000-seat gymnasium after normal school hours for both school and community programs.

The vocational program features a “Main Street” lobby with school-to-work linkages including a cafe, school store, broadcast station and more where students will gain real world experience while exploring career pathways.
